It's difficult to put into a few words the thoughts, memories and feelings regarding the loss of a lifelong friend. Knowing Roy when we were children living in Trinity Road, having him join my fathers decorating company at seventeen years old and working with him for around twenty years, meeting Jill when they were both eighteen years old, knowing Jamie and Tim from babies, I could go on and on. He was a good friend, a dedicated and loving husband and father, a very very sad loss for us all.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
